Mendota Lutheran Home

Ms. Wise came to the Mendota Lutheran Home following a stroke which severely affected the left side of her body.  Even though she lived outside of our area, she chose Mendota Lutheran Home based upon the excellent reputation and good reports she had heard from others.  When Lois arrived at our facility, she required total care.  Today, Lois is discharging to an assisted living facility and has this to say about her stay with us:

  “When I first entered the Lutheran Home I could barely move my whole left side. The therapy department at Mendota Lutheran Home turned the whole works around.  I had gone through intensive therapy in Rockford and I received the same type when I came here.  Today I am walking with a walker and moving into an assisted living apartment.”

  “I would have to say that the best part of the Mendota Lutheran Home is it’s employees, regardless of what department they were in.  I was not in good shape when I came in so I needed a lot of help.  I never had an employee tell me no, regardless of the request.”

  “The idea of a nursing home was very frightening to me - but I found out it’s not frightening at all.  If you need the services, it’s a great place to be!  I made wonderful friends while I was there, both in the residents and the help.  I would definitely recommend the Mendota Lutheran Home to others!”
